“The Gold Coast is set to get a massive Christmas Parade this year, with plans for the spectacular unveiled in Surfers Paradise today.

It’ll be an event inspired by New York’s famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, complete with magical floats, giant balloons and plenty of opportunities for local charities and businesses.

The parade will run approximately 2.5 kilometres, starting in Main Beach and finishing in Surfers Paradise on Sunday 6 December, 2020.

It’s expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people into the heart of the city, providing a significant boost to the tourism sector and delivering more than 700 local jobs.

Gold Coast Christmas Parade and Master Events QLD CEO, William Mead, says it’s an incredible opportunity for Gold Coast businesses to showcase their services and products.
“The Christmas Parade is a much-loved tradition that captures the true festive spirit – encouraging the community to share, engage and celebrate,” Mr Mead said.
“This is a unique chance for local organisations and community groups to connect with residents, tourists and viewers alike – with images of the parade to be beamed around the country, and the world.
“We encourage businesses, charities and schools who would like to be involved to get in touch to find out more about the unique partnership and performance opportunities available.”
